Solid, level surfaces for garages, sheds, equipment pads, and more.

Concrete flatwork refers to any horizontal concrete surface. This includes garage floors, storage shed slabs, equipment pads for AC units or generators, pool decks, and more. Basically, if it's concrete and it's flat, we can build it.
These projects might seem simple, but they require the same careful planning and execution as any other concrete work. A poorly installed slab can crack, settle, or develop drainage problems that lead to expensive repairs. Our concrete services in McAllen focus on doing the job right the first time so you get decades of reliable use.
We handle all types of concrete slabs for residential and commercial properties. Here are some of the most common projects we complete:
Each application has specific requirements for thickness, reinforcement, and finish. We'll design your slab to handle the intended use and local conditions.
The difference between a slab that lasts 5 years and one that lasts 50 years comes down to preparation and proper installation. Here's our process:
We start by evaluating your soil conditions. Soft or expansive soils require extra preparation to prevent settling. We excavate to the proper depth, remove any organic material, and compact the subgrade until it's solid.
Next, we install a compacted gravel base that provides drainage and a stable foundation. We use wire mesh or rebar depending on the slab's purpose. Equipment pads and garage floors typically need heavier reinforcement than shed slabs.
For projects requiring structural support, like building additions, we coordinate with your builder and work to code. Check out our foundation services for new construction projects. For existing concrete that needs work, we offer repair and restoration.
Not all concrete slabs are the same thickness. The right specification depends on what you're using the slab for:
Light duty (3 to 4 inches): Suitable for shed floors, small equipment pads, and walkways. This works fine for foot traffic and light loads.
Standard duty (4 to 5 inches): Good for most residential applications including garage floors, patios, and standard parking areas. This is our most common specification.
Heavy duty (6 inches or more): Required for large vehicles, heavy equipment, or commercial applications. We also use thicker concrete for areas with poor soil conditions.
